I am almost at the end of my first year of my masters program! Well, I say almost, but in reality, it’s the second week of the third term that ends the first week of June. Then I have the MCAT the third week of June. So, you know, everything is relative.
I have neuroscience and physiology this term, which are both harder and easier than my anatomy and embryology and micro anatomy courses last term. But it also means that I feel decent enough to start reading again. It’s been a struggle, but I can’t wait to start losing myself in text again. In the meantime, I’ll be catching up on posting the reviews I have written since last August (not too many, but a handful) and we’ll get this show on the road!
I do have a neuroscience exam on Monday, so I bid adieu as I go and study before classes tonight.
I was just featured at Random Buzz for my review of TIMELESS! This is a real honor and I’m very surprised. My reviews have never been featured before! Thank you so much!
Now that I have a new laptop, I am going to be posting reviews I’ve been lax on but have on goodreads. So get ready for quite a few updates! I’ll do better now I think since I have a working keyboard that responds when typed on.
If you’d like to see my review on Random Buzzers, please go here.
To kick off this blog, I have a hardback edition of Human.4 to give away. It’s not an ARC or anything, just a plain book. I read it and didn’t like it enough to keep in my library.
I am going to take a page out of Sarah Prineas’ book and have you all pick a number from 1-231 and I will give you a line from that page. This giveaway ends August 3rd at midnight EST! I will use a random number generator to determine the winner! List your country as well. Also, I am only able to send books to the USA and Canada at this time. Sorry, I don’t know the rules of book sending well yet and don’t want to get anyone in trouble!
If you are the winner, you have three days to claim your prize, or I’m picking another (in the interest of time and expense).
Okay, ready? Comment! And keep watching this blog for more giveaways!
My review of Human.4 by Mike A. Lancaster

It was an interesting concept, the main character was snarky and funny, but I just felt like it was pieced together. Which was probably the point, seeing as it’s on tapes that aren’t complete being listened to at an undetermined point in the future. I was excited about this book up until the end, and then I just felt uncomfortable. Up until then I was like “I am so keeping this book! What an inventive way of doing things!” And then it just… stopped. I was left more confused by the last 50 pages than I was at the beginning.
Which, again, was probably the point. But even if you leave me MAJORLY hanging, at least have the courtesy of giving me SOME answers. Something that made me feel like I just didn’t waste my time going through this amazing story to find a lump of coal at the end. So, in a way, I loved the book and in a way it frustrated me. I feel like I kinda wasted my money getting it. Like I should have waited for the paperback.
Four stars for the concept. Probably 3 for the execution. But interesting. I just didn’t like it personally.
Hello! This is the official opening of my book review blog! I honestly have no idea how to do fancy html stuff, so it’s probably going to look like every other blog until I can figure it out.
I get books from netGalley.com, goodreads.com, and librarything.com.
Also, any book that I don’t absolutely fall in love with and want to keep in my library I might give away here or on goodreads.com so be on the look out for that.
This weekend I am going to Tybee Island so I’ll have a lot of book reviews to share when I’m done I suspect.
I hope my reviews, which I will also post on Amazon, goodreads, and whatever establishments I get the books from, will help you decide whether or not to purchase the books. Thanks for looking!
